Cookie notice
This website sets no cookies at all. The one thing it can store is a note that you have dealt with the notice at the foot of the page.
What is stored
When you answer the notice at the foot of the page, the site writes a single entry into your browser's local storage, under the name petley-cookie-preference. Its value records only which button you pressed. Its purpose is to stop the notice appearing on every page.
That entry stays in your browser until you clear your browsing data. It is readable only by this website, on the device you are using. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to any server, and it contains nothing about you.
What is not stored
- No analytics or statistics of any kind
- No advertising or advertising identifiers
- No third-party scripts, tags, pixels or beacons
- No embedded maps, videos, fonts or social media widgets
- No record of which pages you looked at, or for how long
The pages here are plain files with one stylesheet and one small script, both served from this site. With your network disconnected after loading, everything still works, because there is nothing for it to fetch.
If you would rather nothing were stored
Close the notice with the second button, or ignore it. Nothing is written unless you press a button. You can also block or clear local storage for this site in your browser's settings, and the site will carry on working exactly as before — the notice will simply reappear.
The enquiry form
The form on the contact page stores nothing. It checks your entries in the browser and then tells you plainly that it is not connected to a mail handler and that nothing has been sent.
